Screen Pals
Fair rules for friendly pals

Terms of Use

These terms explain the rules for using Screen Pals, including on-screen mascots, rewarded unlocks, and Premium features.

Effective date: August 3, 2026  ·  Last updated: August 3, 2026

Please read these termsBy downloading, accessing, purchasing through, or using Screen Pals, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. About Screen Pals

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and the developer of Screen Pals (“Screen Pals,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) regarding the Screen Pals Android application, package name com.screenpals.cute.shiemji.

Screen Pals displays animated mascot characters in the status-bar area or elsewhere on your screen. Mascots may react to touch, charging, battery state, music playback, and other supported device events. Features may vary by device, Android version, region, app version, and access level.

Personal enjoyment

Your license is personal and non-commercial.

Free and Premium

Some characters and features require an ad, trial, or one-time purchase.

System access

You control overlay and notification-listener access in Android settings.

Respectful use

Do not misuse, copy, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Screen Pals. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms and authorize any purchase on your behalf.

You may use the app only where permitted by law and in accordance with Google Play’s applicable terms and policies.

3. Limited license

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable license to install and use Screen Pals on compatible Android devices that you own or control, solely for personal, non-commercial use.

This is a license, not a sale. No ownership rights in the app, mascots, animations, artwork, code, names, sounds, layouts, or other content are transferred to you.

4. Device permissions and operation

Certain features require Android permissions or special access, including display over other apps, notification access for active media sessions, foreground-service operation, notifications, and startup restoration.

  • You decide whether to grant these permissions through Android’s system screens.
  • You may revoke access at any time, but affected features may stop working.
  • Overlay behavior can vary across device manufacturers and may appear above other apps. You are responsible for hiding or disabling mascots when an overlay could distract you or interfere with another task.
  • Do not use Screen Pals where an on-screen overlay could create a safety risk, including while driving or operating equipment.

Music reactions depend on compatible active media sessions. Screen Pals does not guarantee compatibility with every music or media app.

5. Free features, rewarded unlocks, and Premium

Free features

Screen Pals may provide selected mascots and features without payment. We may change which features are free, provided that changes do not remove rights already granted by a completed purchase except where required for security, legal compliance, or service discontinuation.

Rewarded ads and temporary access

Some optional features may be unlocked by watching a rewarded advertisement or starting a limited trial. Ad availability is not guaranteed. A reward may require successful completion and confirmation of the ad. Temporary or ad-supported access may expire, be limited to specific features, or be unavailable in some regions or circumstances.

Premium purchase

Premium is offered as a one-time in-app product unless the purchase screen clearly states otherwise. The price, currency, taxes, and included benefits shown in Google Play at checkout control the transaction. Current Premium benefits may include access to the broader mascot roster, multiple pals together in Full screen, removal of third-party ads, and Premium status-bar backgrounds.

Payment, restoration, and refunds

  • Google Play processes payments and applies its payment terms.
  • Purchases are associated with the Google Play account used to buy them and may be restored on compatible devices using that account.
  • You are responsible for securing your device and Google Play account and for obtaining authorization before making a purchase.
  • Refund eligibility and processing are governed by Google Play’s policies and applicable law. We cannot directly issue refunds that must be processed by Google Play.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, publicly display, or commercially exploit the app or its mascot assets;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, extract, modify, or create derivative works from the app except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • circumvent purchase checks, ad rewards, feature limits, access controls, or security measures;
  • use automation, modified clients, exploits, or unauthorized tools to manipulate rewards or entitlements;
  • interfere with the app, Google services, other users, devices, or networks;
  • use Screen Pals for unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or harmful purposes; or
  • remove copyright, trademark, attribution, or proprietary notices.

7. Intellectual property

Screen Pals and all associated software, visual designs, mascot characters, animations, names, graphics, and other materials are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Google Play, Android, Firebase, AdMob, and related marks belong to their respective owners.

If you voluntarily send suggestions or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use that feedback to improve or promote Screen Pals without obligation or compensation to you. Do not submit confidential information as feedback.

8. Updates, availability, and termination

We may update the app to add, change, improve, secure, or remove features. Some updates may be required for continued operation. We do not guarantee that every mascot, reaction, background, ad, or feature will remain available indefinitely or work on every device.

Third-party services—including Google Play Billing, Firebase, and Google Mobile Ads—may affect availability. Network access may be required for purchases, restoration, consent, ads, analytics, and crash reporting.

You may stop using Screen Pals at any time by disabling it or uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access to features if you materially violate these Terms, misuse the service, create legal or security risk, or where continued operation is no longer reasonably possible. Sections intended by their nature to survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions—will survive.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Screen Pals and its service providers handle information. It forms part of these Terms. Please review it before using the app.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Screen Pals is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation.

We do not warrant that overlays, media reactions, ads, purchases, restoration, animations, or backgrounds will work without interruption on every device or with every third-party app. Device manufacturers and Android updates may change or restrict relevant behavior.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, device use, or business opportunity arising from Screen Pals.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, our aggregate liability relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Screen Pals during the 12 months before the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of Screen Pals, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

12. Governing terms and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the developer’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections in your country or region continue to apply.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the concern informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by the courts with lawful jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer law provides another forum.

13. General terms

  • Changes: We may update these Terms. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice when legally required. Material changes apply prospectively.
  • Severability: If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue.
  • No waiver: A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment: You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of the app, subject to applicable law.
  • Entire agreement: These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and applicable purchase terms are the complete agreement concerning Screen Pals.
